HAPPY FOREVER DAY!

Today, the 18th of December, is FOREVER DAY!!! (OK, yes, I am one day late, but it’s still technichally Forever Day in the UK... Well... just)

This day was invented by Alex Day, of YouTube and DFTBA fame, as a holiday, to try and replicate the American holiday season.

On Forever Day, Alex decrees that we shall:
· Make videos
· Wear silly outfits
· Buying a copy of Forever Yours because it’s a song about friendship
· And celebrating it in any way you like.

Because I can celebrate it any way I like, I’m going to be dancing around to my new copy of Forever Yours in a silly outfit... So basically everything I’ve done since the song came out except with a new version. Epicness.

Check out Alex’s “advent calendar countdown” at http://www.youtube.com/user/nerimon/ :-) and buy the song on iTunes.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. DON’T FORGET TO BUY FOREVER YOURS! (+ the remixes!)

Dream – Meeting The Ood Cast

This dream happened a while ago, on the night of 24/7/11 – 25/7/11 and I wrote it down, so here it is, for you to enjoy! It features The Ood Cast! Yay!

******

I was in a park, and for some reason was exploring behind some bushes, when I discovered a golden contraption. It had a couple of switches and levers on it and I pressed one of the buttons/ Immediately my surroundings changes: the leaves which were on the ground flew up onto the branches and turned green and people whizzed backwards around me.

I let go of the button in excitement and it took a while to gather my surroundings. I heard music in the background – it was Timelord Rock filk and was a song I had heard on The Ood Cast. I explored out of the bushes to see a park and a white tent with a stage inside. Four people were performing on the stage and I realised, as I approached the small crowd, that it actually was The Ood Cast. Laura was on vocals, Alpha was on drums, Sigma was on lead guitar and Andy was on bass guitar.

I approached the tent just as the song stopped and Laura thanked everyone for coming. The jumped off the stage and Sigma pressed a button on the side of the tent, and the tent collapsed and was pulled into a suitcase at the bottom of the tent, taking the instruments with it. I approached Laura and told her she was awesome and said congratulations for getting married. I then noticed she had no ring on her finger and I then knew that it was prior to Vampires of Venice. I told her about how I got there (“time travel exists!”) and asked a passer by for paper so I could get an autograph. I had my camera with me and took a few pictures with her and the others. I told Laura about how Alpha makes Haiku’s and writes a poem for her wedding.

I took her to my school library with Alpha and we sifted through the recently returned books. She asked me about the podcast but I said I wasn’t sure if I could tell her much so I said “I can’t tell you because of timey-wimey” for the majority of questions.

Exhausted from questions, Alpha, Laura and I went to a random shed and saw out the window, Sigma confronted by a policewoman. She pointed at his shoes and he tried to run away but tripped. Alph, Laura and I cracked up laughing. We started impersonating French people and Laura went to see Sigma. Alpha walked me out of the shed, through the park seen previously and out past Parliament Station to Flagstaff.

******

Again, I really hope this happens in some form. Obviously not the time travel part, but the meeting them and/or them becoming rock stars.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

Random Wibble #1

Well, I’ve had this blog for a while, but have always written articles of a certain topic, so this blog has never really lived up to its name. However, I have now compiled enough wibble for me to kind of make a scrap book blog of sorts – all of these are random notes that I have taken down over the past month and shall now be published, here, on this very blog. Aren’t you special?

I was initially going to write a blog about how people can look professional when playing an instrument, but decided that it was too short for an actually article. So:
Have you ever wondered how people playing the piano always look so professional? Well, I have a couple of notes for you to make people believe that you can play professionally.
1.       Lean back and forth and look left and right. Most piano players are Asian, so they need glasses. As a result, they look at their page/keys quite often.
2.       Closing your eyes... well not really. When it appears that pianists are closing their eyes, they make it look like they are “feeling the music” and, quite frankly, are showing off. However, The secret is, that they are squinting. As noted in the previous point, most piano players are Asian, so they need glasses, and when they play, it’s rare to see a pianist with glasses on. So, even when they are wearing contacts, they are squinting at their music.

I wanted to write a crimp, like in the Mighty Boosh, but had no ideas about what to write about. I didn’t want to write one about Doctor Who or something, because that’s very typical of me, and I wanted to be challenged. The Might Boosh often crimped about foods, e.g. soup and cheese, and I thought you guys could leave comments below about what inanimate objects I could crimp about.

I am the only Lian Meacco in the world! This is because “Lian” is already a pretty uncommon name but “Meacco” is even less common. The name Meacco is the Italian version of Mejak (May-yark), which is the Croatian/Yugoslavian version of the name. Basically, when our family was captured by the Italians during WW2, the name got changed as Italians don’t have the letters “j” or “k”. When the family immigrated to Australia, my Nono couldn’t be brothered to change the name back to Mejak.

I have the same birthday with Alex Day (Nerimon) and Lindsay McDonnell (lilliesarelike). And I have four other friends who have the same birthdays as the other people in Chameleon Circuit.

When playing music to strangers, be free to play your own music. The worst that can happen is that they don’t like the music. I often play my own Nerdfighter music and not care about what people think. Also, if you play it to strangers, they would immediately be attracted to you and your music, as they would be curious as to what the hell is playing. This way, they don’t hate the music. For example, if you played Justin Beiber to a crowd of Eminem fans, they would boo and shun, but if you played Rhett & Link to a crowd of Eminem fans, they would be intrigued as the music style is similar, and they may even end up liking Nerdfighter music more than their mainstream pop-rock music.

12 Days of Christmas: Doctor Who style

Hi guys! In the spirit of Christmas, I’ve written a Doctor Who version of the 12 Days of Christmas carol.

On the first day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:
One Doctor to save me.

On the second day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:
Two flying sharks,
And one Doctor to save me.

On the third day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:
Three Silurians,
Two flying sharks,
And one Doctor to save me.

On the fourth day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:
Four Cybermen,
Three Silurians,
Two flying sharks,
And one Doctor to save me.

On the fifth day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:
Five Daleks,
Four Cybermen,
Three Silurians,
Two flying sharks,
And one Doctor to save me.

On the sixth day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:
Six Shadows Stalking,

And one Doctor to save me.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, the TARDIS gave to me:

Six Shadows Stalking,
Five Daleks,
Four Cybermen,
Three Silurians,

And one Doctor to save me.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. Does anyone else think that the person receiving the gifts in the original, should give away some of her presents. She gets 364 presents in total – THAT’S (NEARLY) ONE EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR!

Dream – Telling Alex Day of My Dream

This is DEFINITELY Inception-y. It was so weird. I had this dream on the night of 11/12/11 – 12/12/11

******

I was lying down on Alex’s bed in his new house, him beside me, and we were staring at the roof. Tom Milsom was standing at the end of the bed and saying something crazy like he usually does. Then I remembered. I sat up suddenly, propping myself up onto my elbows and told them I remembered my dream that featured both of them. Alex rolled over onto his side and leant on his forearm – he was really close to my face. I told them a watered down version of the dream, where there was no Harley and the dream ended with is having lunch together. We all started laughing and put on Forever Yours to groove to.

******

And I can’t remember any more. But, again, I really wish that would happen. And when I say really wish, I mean, REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY (x 9999999999 by a gazillion).

Also, when I told my mum of this she said, “You must really like his music.” Haha, if only she knew :-)

Forever Yours To Number One!

Alex Day has recently released a new song for his upcoming album, Epigrams and Interludes, called Forever Yours. He’s done this with the intention of getting to Number One in the (British) charts for Christmas. A large chunk of the money will be given to World Vision, of which he has supported in various ways throughout recent years.

The sing has high hopes, and has recently received the odds of 16:1 by William Hill to be the number one for Christmas. This is higher than Justin Beiber’s 25:1 and also has a good chance due to the fact that the X-Factor song is released the week before Christmas.

Even though you may not be British (I’m not), any sales of the song on iTunes will help Alex Day climb the charts, all the way to number one this Christmas. I live in Australia, and I’ve been writing to the popular stations telling them of this song. Also, I’ve been going into phone stores and writing into working phones, to go and check out the song. The aim is to grab people’s attention and make them curious enough to look at the song.

You can view the video made by Charlie McDonnell below.

Please help us, the Nermie Army, to get it to number one by buying the song, liking the video, and writing to radio stations to play the song. It helps more if you live in the UK, but just as much if you live elsewhere. Like I said earlier, the aim is to get people to notice the song.

Most importantly, enjoy the song.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

Living With Neighbours

Near to where I live, are the television studio and various locations in which the TV show Neighbours is filmed, including, the infamous Ramsay Street (which is called Pin Oak Court). It seems so strange to me, because I’ve grown up in this area, that people come and see the houses. Actually, no, not strange, stupid.

Every time I look outside, I see another Neighbours decorated bus, leaving the studio, filled with excited British people. I know that I would get excited about, for example, being at the water tower at the Millennium Centre, where the supposed rift in time and space and Torchwood Hub is, but that’s for a show that has much more integrity than Neighbours. The show is actually shunned in Australia, but it’s the overseas audience that keeps it going, and I don’t see why.

Maybe I’m contradicting myself. I probably am. My point is that if you want to visit a famous filming location, make sure it’s of a worthwhile show, not a soap opera like Neighbours.

Dream - First Date With Alex Day

This was a dream that I had on the night of 8/12/11 – 9/12/11. Because there are two Alex’s in the story, I shall underline my cousin’s name Alex.

******
I was going out with my cousin, Alex, and was walking through a car park when Harley suddenly started walking beside us. We both ignored him and he went away to sulk.

When he did, Alex Day and Tom Milsom appeared and I introduced them to Alex, “Alex, Tom Milsom. Tom Milsom, Alex. Alex Day, Alex. Alex, Alex Day.” It was like I was an old friend with Tom Milsom, and I obviously watched all of Alex’s videos. We walked towards the shopping centre, through the car park, in two’s – Alex was talking to Tom Milsom and Alex Day was talking to me. I told him that I had watched all his videos on YouTube and, not to tell Charlie but, I liked him better. He grinned and promised not to tell. He then told me that he was down here, in Australia, for album promotion (Epigrams and Interludes) because his song Forever Yours had done the best in Australia and had become the Australian Christmas number one. We ended up in a cafe, having somehow decided to spend lunch together, and Alex and Tom went to order whilst Alex Day and I went to grab a table.

I continued talking to Alex and I could see the various aspect of his personality that come through in his videos, except this time, it felt more person and intimate because I could look into his eyes, and he could look into mine. I laughed at his comments about the shop and Australia, bringing up Jimmy Hill/VLR and Nerdfighter related things. Suddenly, he went quiet, as if he was shy. I had never seen him this way in any videos.
“Can I have your number and email?” he asked. I smiled shyly and replied, “Yeah, of course.” He got out his phone and I recited both contact details to him and I entered his details into my phone – his personal email, Australian number and UK number.
“Now I can go to an Apple store and prank call you,” I joked, referencing his Apple Store Stories video. He laughed and then leaned over and pecked me on the cheek. I blushed, smiled, and bit my lip just as Tom and Alex came around the corner with the drinks. We continued to talk and I mentioned the coincidence of birthdays in Chameleon Circuit as I had four other friends with the same birthdays as the people in the Trock band. I paired them off and ended with Alex’s and my birthday. He commented, “How ‘bout that?” and smiled in a way I had never seen before.

We finished our drinks and got up to leave. Alex took me aside and asked me if I could see him the next day. I told him I couldn’t because I was seeing the Doctor Who Spectacular. He looked and sounded disappointed as he told me that he was going home the next day. I sighed and he grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes and told me he’d email me when he got back home. We then went separate ways and Alex asked me if I like him. I smiled nervously, said I did, and he hugged me.

THAT WAS AN AWESOME DREAM!!! I REALLY HOPE THAT IT COMES TRUE ONE DAY
******

I had this dream on the night, after I had spent the past hour and a half watching Alex Reads Twlight and other videos. I should watch his videos to fall asleep more often
I think it was a little strange, because in VLR 3x7, Alex tells Jimmy not to use his phone.
I told mum the dream up until the point where we go to the cafe and she commented, “Isn’t that nice of him, stopping to talk to you.”

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HOPE THIS COMES TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P!nk's Miracle Songs

In various circumstances throughout my life, I have found myself extremely frustrated with the world, or, in particular, my family. Because of this, I went searching for some music to calm me down. And I wasn’t looking for comical music like Hank Green and Charlie McDonnell produces, but something with bigger meaning. At that time, I was just getting into the artist P!nk, and I fell in love with her music. It wasn’t like other people’s music and had songs that portrayed my emotions. I also thought that Pink is the first pop artist I’ve found, whose values don’t change over time, but her music gets better and better. For example, Lady Gaga’s music started out really well, but over time her music seems to have become to staged to fit in with what she wants her audience to believe that she believes. For instance, the first album with amazing, catchy, and had some really good songs on it; however, her next albums seems like a ploy, and that she’s just going, “Yeah! Look at me! I care too!”

Anyway, I chose 13 of P!nk’s songs that I listen to whenever I’m feeling angry or down. It must be listened to in that order as if gets out all the angry emotions at the start then makes you dance at the end. The songs, Push You Away, Crash and Burn, and Words, are not on any of her albums, but are on her singles.
1. Conversations With My thirteen Year Old Self
2. Nobody Knows
3. This is How it Goes Down
4. Push You Away
5. It’s All Your Fault
6. Mean
7. My Vietnam
8. Crash and Burn
9. Words
10. M!ssundaztood
11. Crystal Ball
12. Glitter in the Air
13. Feel Good Time

Hope you guys find this helpful in some way J

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos,

*EDIT* This list was made before her Greatest Hits album came out, so here’s the revised edition J
9. Words
10. F**kin’ Perfect
11. M!ssundaztood
12. Crystal Ball
13. Glitter in the Air
14. Feel Good Time
15. Raise Your Glass

FIRST EVER VLOG!

Here is a video I made in response to The Ood Cast's "Who is this guy..." on YouTube, which I think they took down.

In case you were wondering, I was watching Star Wars: Return of the Jedi when Sigma invaded my screen.

Contradictory English

What I just realised is that the world has two very contradictory phrases.
· “The pen is mightier than the sword”
· “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me”

This came to my mind when I was listening to Alex Day’s song, “The World is Mine (I Don’t Know Anything)” where he sings, “And the pen is stronger, than any sharpened sword, but every word I write to you makes me feel like a fool,” and this made me think of how words, although they can be intended to do good, they can be seen as hurtful towards others. However the second phrase puts forth the idea that weapons would hurt a person more... hmm...

...

... Wow... remind me to write something happy next time.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

A Review of Breaking Dawn

So, recently I saw Twilight: Breaking Dawn with my friends Jess and Sze Yee for their birthdays. Even thought I wasn’t much of a fan of Twilight, it’s still somewhat of a tradition to go and see the Twilight Saga with Jess. Normally, I wouldn’t favour it – things would be really corny and ridiculous for my liking, only the soundtrack would be adequate for my mind; but this was actually pretty good. Going into the movie, I had re-watched Twilight and New Moon, but I had not seen Eclipse since the movie, so I was a little confused with some events in Breaking Dawn: however, I did enjoy it. Just like I review Doctor Who episodes, I thought I would review Breaking Dawn Part One.

Originally, I was looking forward to this movie, I mean, it had two big things that everyone would have been looking forward to, fan or not. So I went, looking forward to the wedding and the birth... and I wasn’t let down. The wedding was pretty good, but the way they made the birth scene was amazing, particularly since it had to be cut down to avoid an R 18+ rating.

Likes
·  CGI – the CGI of the wolves and Jacob’s imprint was amazing
·  The name EJ would have been nice.
·  Bella’s make-up. She looked a lot more colourful and alive in this movie. Perhaps it was because they had to contrast the alive Bella with the nearly-dead-and-pregnant Bella.
·  The gaunt, strained look was amazing.

Dislikes
·  The end music and credits were CRAP. For all the effort they had put into the CGI for the movie, couldn’t they have spared a little bit of the budget for end credits? It looked like a primary schooler had done it on Windows Movie Maker or something.
·  The name Renesme.

Interesting
·  Isn’t it weird to think that Jacob would always be about 20 years older than Renesme? Kind of ew...
·  How would Renesme grow up? If vampires never age, doesn’t that mean that Renesme would stay a baby?
·  I found it interesting that they included a scene from the first novel in this movie (I only know this because of when Charlie McDonnell took over from Alex reads Twilight in “Charlie Reads Twilight”). They took the bit at the start in Bella’s Bedroom where Edward tells Bella that he went off and killed people when he first became a vampire. It was initially said in front of the Cullen family when Bella goes over and meets them for the first time in Twilight. However, it was a good placement for the scene.

So, I know I would say I would shoot people if they talked to me about Twilight, and I will, but not if they talk to me about Breaking Dawn.
