So much for that.

So much for me promising to not stop posting. I haven't posted in over a month and a half. In that time, the Olympics has come and gone and I have reached over 1000 views on YouTube which is MENTAL!

AND LEAKYCON HAPPENED! But I couldn't go, which was sad. But it is good becasue it now means that AVPSY is now in existence :)

I've also started a new Trimester at Uni. My favourite class by far is my elective where we get to study Hunger Games, Lion King, Avatar and some anime films. SO BRILLIANT!

I'm still vlogging, which is good. I haven't given up, even though some weeks, it's REALLY hard to come up with ideas.

Recently I was looking through a Brothers Grimm collection book and I found a story about a talking sausage. I thought it was interesting, so I made a video about it. It will be on the Melbourne Nerdfighters Collab Channel tomorrow, and I promise to link you to it. For now, here is a picture I drew/ coloured of the story :)

Nerdfighter Gathering

On Saturday the 23rd of Juune, I made my way into the city for my first ever Nerdfighter Gathering.

It was an amazing day and was full of hilarious events.

For those of you who don't know (yet), I have a vlogging channel and I made a vlog about it. SEE IT HERE!!!! NOW CLICK BELOW!!!

Migrations to Nowhere (My First Time)

I also uploaded additional footage onto the Melbourne Nerdfighters Channel, http://youtube.com/MelbNerdfighters/ which you all should subscribe to because it is awesome. Also, my video is there. And I'm an emergency, so you may see me on occasion :)

Update away!

So for those of you who don't know, I've started to vlog on YouTube. It's exciting isn't it? Yes! Well, unfortunately my editing still is a bit shoddy. I blame my computer being annoyingly slow when I'm trying to splice things. Also my laziness to fix things up would probably b an active factor.

If you want to watch some videos, please let me know what you think.
http://youtube.com/randomwibbler/
http://facebook.com/RandomWibbler/

I'm on holidays now for the next two weeks, so I'm really excited, yet dreading it. I'm excited for being able to do all those things that I have put off for the term, but I'm hating having to do all the extra chores. And don't get me started on the driving I'm going to have to do. I hate driving.

In other news, I'm going to my first ever Nerdfighter Gathering this Saturday. It's a dress up thing. Yep that's right. We are going to be going into the city, all dressed up, and be nerds. It's going to be so much fun :)

Also, I think I have been friendzoned. But that's ok I guess. I mean, it's better to be in a friendship rather than a relationship because there is more of a chance that I would get hurt like I did with the last one. .... So that's all for relationship news...... Because you really care about that......

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

THE AVENGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Warning: May or may not contain spoilers depending on what you call spoilers. It’s just my favourite quotes and villain mention, but no plot stuff.

The dynamics between Hulk and Iron Man are amazing. There were so many amazing one liners and the way that Hulk woke up Stark was hilarious.

And Loki was hot. Again. In Thor he was hot, and now he’s just even hotter because he’s more evil.

Having Cobie Smulders in it made me and my sister gasp when she first came on screen. And each time they said “suit up” I kept on thinking of Barney.

I originally didn’t like Robert Downey Jr. but he had such good lines in this. “Doth your mother know you weareth her drapes?” was one of the best lines of the whole thing and had me laughingfor about 5 minutes afterwards.

But honestly, even though there were so many heroes in the movie, but there was only one SUPER hero in this movie: Joss Whedon.

Other favourite quotes:
Hulk. Smash.
So that’s what it does.

This is definitely the best movie of the year. 2010 was Inception, 2011 was Harry Potter 7pt2, and this year The Avengers.

It was actually pretty funny. The first thing I see when the credits come on is Joss Whedon. Then the second thing… and the third. Just shows how much involvement Joss had in the movie and it’s AWESOME!!! And that wasn’t all. It was called A JOSS WHEDON FILM!!!!!!!!!!!!! How EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. Just found out there was an extra extra scene at the end. That is why I hate seeing movies with my parents. They never let me stay till the end.

P.P.S. They should now re-release Serenity  and say it's by the creator of The Avengers

A sad generation

I recently got Facebook and was randomly browsing through everything and I found a note by my friend Mary. She has kindly given me permission to paste it here, so thanks Mary :)

"Someone recently asked me, "Why don't you drink/want to go to afterparties?"
My short answer was, "Because it's stupid."
... and it is.

Upon more thought, I realised what a sad generation I have been born into. Somehow it's deemed normal and expected of teenage behaviour, for us to go out and drink until we either pass out in our own vomit or make a complete embarrassment of ourselves. And even stranger (and consequently sadder), this behaviour is deemed necessary for us to have 'fun'.

Tell me, HOW IS BECOMING INORDINATELY PISSED A 'FUN' ACTIVITY?! TELL ME!

I've had someone say, "It just is fun." Same person also wonders why she gets terrible grades.

Another has told me, "It's hard to stop drinking." Then well go complain to a therapist, or even a rehab clinic.

"But all my friends are doing it!" And here's the crux of the problem. What kind of friends let other friends do this to themselves? Break the law, damage their body and potentially create a life long problem? Great friendship right there.

"We're only teenagers for a few years, you've gotta break a few rules." NO! You are not invincible! You are an immature teenager who is deemed 'underage' by the government for a reason. I most of all despise this attitude. We are teenagers for a few years, so we should treasure them, not waste hours of our lives because we can't remember them from alcohol abuse. The concept that drinking and getting drunk is a mature way to party is ridiculous. At least adults know this.

Above all, I treasure myself. It sounds vain but that's the root of all my decisions, selfishly or not. In this case, related to 'fun underage alcohol abuse', I understand myself.

And I know that I am not complete in terms of who I am.

If you talk to adults, about ninety percent will tell you that they didn't know who they truly were 'til they hit 20-26 years old.

Because of this, I do not want to define my future self by submitting to peer pressure, fitting into the social norms, and destroying my own living and growing flesh from early on by drinking. I won't deny I've had a few testers, and there are some I do enjoy, but I have never even considered letting myself become overly wasted.

The minute someone my age tells me they were drunk at some party or are going to get drunk at some party, the words, 'disgusting', 'foul', 'low self-esteem', 'undisciplined' and 'idiot beyond comprehension', immediately attach themselves to said person. Even if the person is very close to me. (However, it doesn't mean that makes them any less of a friend, it just means that I pity them and I wish they had chosen better.) I have never glorified alcohol and have no need to define my youth by it.

Neither do I think that refusing to go to parties with alcohol has anything to do with being a Christian. I have heard of friends unable to remember five hours of a night, I know of people who have been poisoned by alcohol and as I mentioned before, I respect my own body and I'd very much prefer to take care of it myself. If I am unable to take care of my own person, then what a sad lump of useless and burdening flesh I am.

So to conclude my thoughts, I want to say that I feel a great sadness mixed with a great disgust at the way my generation is behaving, alcohol being the main offender here in Australia. I wish that people could just act responsibly and maybe use their brains for a little bit (it's not that hard people) and work out what's best for themselves. If what's best for you is to feel like a sheep and waste yourself away then fine, I will be elsewhere, working towards a future I know I will be happy with."
              ~ my friend Mary.

All of what she wrote fits in perfectly with my own views of the situation, although I have to add that whilst I hate getting drunk and everything, it is fun to not get drunk and have something on everyone else for the rest of their lives. Also, I'm not Christian like she is, I'm Agnostic, but I was brought up in a Christian household, so the point still stands.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. It's Star Wars Day today :) May the Fourth/Force be with you!

Life of a Sweet Witch

A while ago I had to write a fractured/postmodern fairytale. Basically my own version of Hansel and Gretel. At the time of writing I was doing BEDIM, so I took on the format of a blog and called it Life of a Sweet Witch. Now that I've got the assignment back, I can post it on here. I'm quite proud of my fairytale and my tutor said she loved it too.

FAMINE
This famine is getting too much for me. The possibility of finding any animal worth eating is very slim during this winter. It’s also hard to find anyone to let me buy their food as most are scared of my red eyes. Hopefully things will get better.

A NEW HOME
A kind woman came along today. She told me of a house she had built for me, made of cake and sweets. But before she gave me the keys she made me promise one thing... to lure her step-children to my house and give them food. She explained how she had tried to get rid of them before by leaving them in the woods, but they had gone back home. I accepted her offer. As the winter should be letting up soon, I guess I can spare a few warm meals for her children. They could help me to hunt as I cannot do so properly with my poor eyesight.

STARVED
The children arrived today and they looked starved, the poor things. I gave them a good meal, but that used up the rest of my winter supplies. I have now put them to sleep, but I don’t know what to do now. I cannot keep this promise to their step-mother to keep them fed.

SURVIVAL
I have the solution. I don’t like it, but it is necessary for survival. I shall eat one of the children... the boy, Hansel. I think I shall fatten him up first, just so it is a better meal for the girl and I.

I HATE ME
The girl hates me. I don’t know how to explain our necessity nicely. The boy is now in a cage and his sister won’t stop crying. I hate me too, but what else is there to do?

GETTING HUNGRY
The boy isn’t getting fatter. Everyday I send out the girl to hunt and gather berries which I cook and give to him. He gets the best bits of food and yet he’s still thin. His sister and I are getting hungrier by the day as we usually go without a substantial amount of food. Perhaps we should just cook the boy and stop wasting our efforts on him.

NOTHING
I’m writing this from the country hospital’s ICU. I asked Gretel to make a fire and she tricked me into leaning over the flame. She pushed me in, freed her brother, stole my money and ran away. Luckily there was a hunter walking by who took care of my burns. Now I have nothing, especially since the weather has already started to wear away the house. Soon, I will be back to living in my house of sticks.

MEMORIES
The children came by today. They said they were sorry and that they understood I was just trying to survive. They offered me shelter with them in return to be their cook – their step-mother had passed away. I accepted. A home full of bad memories is better than no home at all. And memories can be forgotten.

Fangirling

So, since StarKid's Holy Musical B@man! came out, I have watched it every single night. Well, not all of it. If I don't have time for the whole thing, I just watch my favourite songs.... well, all of the songs.

I also noticed that Joe Moses has read TFIOS which is amazing and made me fangirl.

I got my hands on the new Kate Miller-Heidke album. I LOVE HER VOICE!

I also bought myself $80 in iTunes money, so now I have the soundtrack for Holy Musical B@man! (minus the instrumental for To Be A Man because it won't download properly). I also bought the StarShip soundtrack, the two HeyHiHello EP's, Ryan Seiler's Into the Wind and Dave Day's new EP.

For anyone who hasn't seen Holy Musical B@man! I strongly suggest watching it on Team Starkid's YouTube channel. Seriously. If you like Batman and other superheroes, watch it. If you like Starkid, watch it. If you like candy, watch it. If you like Musicals, watch it. If you don't like any of those, watch it; I guarantee that you'll love it no matter what.

It's time to kick it up a notch because I wanna be your friend forever and a Starship Ranger. There's no way you'll be disappointed with Starkid. There's no way you won't wanna gt back to Hogwarts after you see Jeff Blim, Joe Walker and Brian Holden work their magic with their Red Vine wands. Seriously, I have learnt the majority of the dances, especially the Jeff Blim ones because I found a cane in my wardrobe.

Watch it! Now! Go! Go forth and split your sides! OR ELSE UMBRIDGE WILL MAKE YOU SIT ON HER KNIFE!

Holy Musical B@man!

So I'm a massive fan of Starkid, and on Friday they released Holy Musical B@man! And it did not disappoint.

Just like Alex Carpenter, I'm not going to give out any spoilers in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, but it is good. And even though this is the first production without Darren or Joey involved in it, it was dazzling... is dazzling the right word? Probably not, it's too small a word...

When I first watched it, I thought it wasn't as quotable as others, but compared to other Starkid shows, ALL the songs in this production are catchy and are definitely going to be listened to over and over again. (I'm referring to songs like Flight of the Pussies where, they're only good in the contact of seeing the play.)

Jeff Blim who, as far as I know, is new to Starkid, really owns the scene whenever he's in it, and that's saying something because Joe Walker and Brian Holden do such a good job as well. There's a particular scene that makes me laugh for about 5 minutes at least whenever it's on, and I just rewatch it over and over.

After downloading it on Saturday night, I have watched it 3 more times and it grows on me every time.

For those people who have seen it, don't you think it would be a good idea for Charlie McDonnell and Alex Day to sing one of the songs about... you know what ;) (NO SPOILERS REMEMBER!!!) Well... it's not so much as a good idea, but a want from every nerdfighter who is a Starkid fan.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

Birthday Awesomeness

So the past Sunday was my birthday, and it was awesome.

I had to work in the morning, so I wasn't so thrilled about that, but I like working there anyway, so it wasn't too bad. I was just bummed because I didn't have that much time to prepare games and stuff afterwards. Anyway, at work my boss's dad made my a massive desert pie for my party. HE'S SO NICE! And it tasted really good. I also learnt a new way to cut onions really tiny, so that was good. I also got a chance to grab a birthday Boost Juice which was nice. I ALWAYS get Mango Tango Crush in case anyone was wondering.

I have such an amazing group of songs in my playlit at the moment. I didn't put them on for the party because no one knows the songs, but listening to them makes it a really good way to start the day:
- Glad You Came: Glee Warblers
- Lady Godiva: Alex Day
- Worth It: Luke Conard and Ryan Seiler
- Cough Syrup: Glee, Darren Criss
- Flight of the Prince (Acoustic): Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls
- Room to Breathe: Christian Caldeira
- Light of You: Christian Caldiera
- Hole in my Heart: Christian Caldiera
- Right Here: HeyHiHello
- Movie Song: HeyHiHello
- Like It's Quidditch: The Station
- Call Me Maybe: Carly Jae Respen
- Nerdfighteria Island: Hank Green
- Delete You: ALL CAPS (Kristina Horner)
- Girl in Stilettos: Annah Mac
Anyway, back to my birthday. I organised a race around the house. It was originally going to be at my local primary school, but the Melbourne weather decided to suddenly drop 10 degrees for the weekend, so it became really cold. But, it turned out really fun. We had the race, then dinner, then played Cranium (so much fun), then desert where I gave a eally awkward and unprepared speech in which I thanked everyone for putting up with my crazy and my sister for being awesome. I forgot to say thanks to Ally for helping me organise the whole thing and being my Facebook proxy when no one was replying via text. So here I am now:
To Ally Cullinan: Thank you for being my go to person whenever I needed to add something to the party details and for helping me organsie everyone. You, too, are made of awesome.
OH! I GOT A LAPTOP!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOP! It has a camera and no blocking of the internet!!!! Now I can totally get Facebook! .... although that would mean having to become friends with my dad..... perhaps not then..... (for my friends who want me to get Facebook, I'll let you know more details when I see you next) but I HAVE A LAPTOP!!! I am typing this pst on it now, how exciting!

A couple of my friends got me a massive P!nk picture thingy and it's 295/500 and it's really big and really cool and OMIGOSH SO AWESOME! It even has it's own Certificate of Authenticity at the back! SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just went for a haircut... now it is uber short... well not uber short, but shorter than I normally get it cut.
StarKid are putting Holy Musical Batman up this Friday!!!!
Lady Godiva didn't do as well as hoped, but it still got to number one in Slovenia at one point which was awesome. Poor Alex. He worked so hard at getting it to number one.
Yesterday Jess, Anne and Jane came over with their parents and we all played Cranium. Then Aunty Shook came over and we sang Happy Birthday to her because it was her birthday (poor her, sharing a birthday with Kristen Stewart) and Jess did the Ellen Dance Challenge behind people. It. Was. Hilarious!

What else is good? EVERYTHING! Oh, except for the fact that I probably should start revising for a science test.....

Dream 13-14/03/12: Meekakitty Meeting

I was in a classroom, just casually talking to new people. I was also being kinda crazy and talking to a girl with orange hair who looked remarkably like Meekakitty/Tessa.

I started to talk about YouTube and my favourite female vloggers, Tessa and Shawna, and told the orange hair girl that she looked remarkably like Tessa and she was just as crazy as her.

She turned to me and told me that it was her after I mentioned the “i’m a bat” video.

... I fangirled.

Glee Boy

So today, being Tuesday, is my favourite day of the week. This is because, although I have to get up at 6 in the morning to get to Deakin in time, I get to spend quite a bit of time with my friends. In the morning, I meet my friend Rebecca on the tram, then meet Rauschelle and Nick in the lecture theatre. After our first lecture we go to a computer pod to try and do some work, but always end up watching some YouTube videos.

Last week I told you of the peanut butter and Nerds sandwich that Nick had, and today... he forgot his peanut butter sandwich and had a massive freak out. Ally came along halfway through and they tried to get some embarrassing info off each other about their mutial friend James. We then got talking about footy teams and I said, "I presume that you go for Carlton" and he started a little hissy fit as if what I said was taboo. He said hell no, but then when I asked why, for the past 3 weeks, had he been wearing Carlton trackpants, he said very girlishly, "I don't keep track of my wardrobe, jeez" and fell silent. Again, we were in fits of laughter.

Another thing that happened was that Rebecca had a jumper with the Cheerios uniform design on it and when she asked Nick if he recognised it, he didn't for about 30 seconds.... and then he got it. The way Ally put it describes the moment pretty well: he has a little 12 year old girl inside of him... sounds kinda wrong now that it's typed down, but the description is pretty accurate. So yeah... he fangirled which was really amusing. Now, whenever my sister gasps or squeals at the TV, and mum tells her off, I'll tell my mum that she has to meet Nick before she has any judgement over how extreme someone can get over a TV program.

Anyway, after our second lecture I went off and met Ally outside a cafe. She showed me a few drunk videos of him singing Glee songs... They were ... interesting, but hilarious. I wish I had his number so that I could text him to tease him about it. So I asked Rebecca for his number... is that creepy?

In other news, the Lady Godiva campaign in the UK has kinda fell on it's face. The highest the song got was number 14 and it has been dropping ever since. But, the Nermie Army have had success in getting it to number one in Slovenia. How good is that! At least Alex's efforts aren't for nothing, because it really is a great song.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

IT'S GODIVA DAY!!!!

IT'S GODIVA DAY EVERYONE!!!! The second most awesome day this April (the first will be next Sunday where it's my birthday, Alex Day's Birthday, and hopefully the day Lady Godiva is announced to be number 1).

I really hope that Lady Godiva does do well because it will mean so much to the Nermie Army - we're not just doing something stupid... Although, I don't really think we mind doing something stupid, we just want to get noticed for doing something stupid.

Like Alex said in a recent video, it's suck if it got to, like, number 8 or something. It's still good, just not as good as Forever Yours, and would make it seem that it wasn't worth the time.

It's really an amazing song, and I sincerely hope that it does well. Also, it'd chart on my and his birthday :)

BEDIM Day 31

WOO! Last BEDIM post! Don't worry dear 2 followers, I will still blog at least once a week for y'all.

So last night's party was weird, but still pretty good. So it started off with a few of us sitting on a couch and when we went to get drinks, Raph introduced us to one of her Uni friends, James (again, why does everyone' name have to start with J?). HE WAS THE SPITTING IMAGE OF GRANT GUSTIN! But that was the last we saw of him for the whole night.

There was a really big cushiony sofa in one corner, and at the start of the night we named it the make-out corner. However, 30 minutes in, it was renamed at the corner for people to go and sit if they didn't want the music to be too loud. We sat there for about 2 hrs, just talking, taking weird pictures and eating... a lot of eating.

Next thing we did was to go out and dance a bit, and when we were going out we passed our ex-Vice Principal... because that's totally normal. She's Raph's brother's Godmother.

So after that we went to dance but the DJ was crap and kept playing songs that we couldn't dance to.

We then had birthday speeches which were made by a couple of our friends, and that no-one payed much attention to because it went for ages. Then it was one of her uncles which made a total parody of the speech which was awesome. And then there was Greek dancing, which is basically walking around really fancily in a circle. We didn't really get it at first, but then Ms. Hiotis (the ex-VP) came along and showed us how and it was pretty easy.

By the end of that it was 11.30 and I went home, although the party was meant to go until about 1... but I was tired and sick.... and today my voice and cough is even worse.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 30 EXTRA!!!

So here are the results:
Intstrumental: Brennan who played a classical minute long piece
Vocal: Brennan who sang the Adele song
Small Group: Flynn who sang Sweet Disposition but apparently were even messier than last night
Big Group Set Song: Flynn ... yeah, pretty good decision
Big Group Choice Song: Macca with Iko Iko

Placings:
1st: Flynn
2nd Macca
3rd Brennan
4th Cattanach

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 30

So last night was awesome. It was my sister's (and my old school's) Chorals performance, and it was the first time that I had watched it on one of the nights without having to usher anyone in between acts. It was really relaxing.

The first vocal soloist was from Flynn who performed Holy Moses by Washington. AND SHE DIDN'T RUIN THE SONG! Thank God for that! She was actually really good and ended up being my favourite. There was a girl who sung an Adele song, but I think that she wasn't gutsy enough for Adele.

I totally forgot that it was last dayof school today, and I'm writing this from the local Maccas so there are SO MANY CHILDREN AROUND! I thought that it would be peacefully quiet, but no.

Back to Chorals.

All of the Instrumental Soloists were pretty average except for the Flynn girl who performed a Pirates of the Carribean medley on the piano. She was the best because she actually had dynamics in hers.

The small groups were all actually pretty good, except for Brennan who ruined Sara Barellis' Kalaidoscope Heart for me. Also, Cattanach wasn't that great. Flynn wasn't either because they did Sweet Disposition and they were all a bit out of sync at the start. But if they could fix it up for today's performance, I'm sure that they'll be pretty good... But Macca was the best one for that.

Lastly, the Big Groups. Big Groups is where anyone could join (compared to the others which all involved auditions). Cattanach was the first group and they did a Spice Girls medley. They were horrible! They couldn't hit any of the high notes which just made it really bad. Flynn was up next and they did Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne.... which they ruined..... Then there was Macca. My sister has been saying for the past 4 weeks that they are terrible and that that they can't win at all, but I found it to be the best Big Group of the night. Firstly, THEY WERE SMILING! None of the other houses had smiled so it made it terrible. Secondly, their sound was together. They performed Iko Iko by the Dixie Cups and because it's a fast song, I thought they were going to be really bad and that their sound was going to be disjointed, BUT IT WASN'T. Now, I'm not just saying this because I was in Macca, but I really liked it and think that they'll win Big Group. Brennan was the last group to perform and did Bad Romance.... No.... just, no.

So overall, the best soloists were from Flynn, and the best Groups were from Macca. It's going to be a close call. The adjudication is today, so when I get home I'll put up another post and let you people on the internet (the majority of who probably stopped reading at the second sentence or didn't read this at all) know what happened and how the day went down.

For me, I've still got another 4 days of Uni until my Easter break (and until my birthday). This weekend is going to be chock a block with work. I have to finish that role play once my group send me their information, write an essay explaining my twisted version of Hansel and Gretel (which I shall post up here once the assignment submissions are finished, as well as the Red Riding Hood one that I wrote as a trial), and make a menu for my work (but that one's not so important).

For now though, I have a party tonight and have to fill up a picture album for my friend whose party it is. Looking forward to all the drunk people that I get to video. And because I don't have FaceBook, it's like I have special permission or something. It's great :)

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 29

NERALY FINISHED THIS BEDIM THING!!! I WILL SOON HAVE MORE TIME TO DO OTHER PROCRASTINATING THINGS!

Basically, I have to go out tonight and therefore only have from now, 4.30 until about 6.00 to do one whole assignment. NOT GOOD.

Better get started.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 28

So today there was a new guy at work. His name is Jack. WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE A NAME STARTING WITH J!!!???

It was weird. I was there about 10 minutes before and I was walking above the shop. I looked down and was like, "There is a guy with spiky blond hair. Where's Jeff?" and it was really weird.

I have so much to do.
1. Make a menu
2. Make a survey
3. Write a play about the Carbon Tax
4. Make a playlist for my party
5. Write a 1000 word essay

Seems like a few little things, but they are going to take so much work. Better get started.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 27

So today was both good and bad in parts.

1. Woke up feeling really groggy - bad
2. Had figs for breakfast - good
3. Dishwasher didn't dry dishes properly - bad
4. Dad drove me to tram stop - good
5. No pretty sunrise - bad
6. Caught the tram with my friend Bec - good
7. Was told in the first lecture about some government thing I need to fill out asap - bad
8. Went to a computer pod with Bec, Raushelle, Nick and Rachel - good
9. Was REALLY unproductive in terms of doing work - bad
10. Ate Nerds and Nick put some in his peanut butter sandwich... he really enjoyed it... like, REALLY enjoyed it. I would go so far as to say he had a foodgasm. Anyways.... - good
11. Went to a second lecture where I couldn't hear the woman and she talked really boringly - bad
12. Decided to go home and skip the last lecture - good
13. Bit into a roll which had a whole load of chilli - bad
14. NEW VLR AND HITS BY DAY! - good

WOOP!

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 26

So today I had one of my assignments for Uni, where it was sort of peer assessed. We had to bring along 3 artefacts and tag them, so it was pretty good because the whoel class just decided to give each other 10's.

Then my friend Bec gave me her hard drive for the night, so I'm getting so many programs off her... mainly old Who, but it's still really good. I'm also going to be copying on Firefly and Dr Horrible and Chameleon Circuit and other awesome things. Really excited. SHE'S GONNA BE HOOKED!

My throat is also getting better. This morning it was horrible and I couldn't swallow properly, but now it's really good because (I think) an apple I ate was really sour and sour things usually help my throat. Also I've been drinking more today, as well as sucking on some Werthers. It's good.

I also found out today that Alex Day's signed Lady Godiva CD's will be shipped worlwide so YAY!

Oh, and I know it's late, but the BBC have now announced the new companion replacing the Ponds. I thought I recognised her, but it turns out that she hasn't been in anything I've seen which is weird.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 25

So today I went to see The Hunger Games. SO GOOD! I think the main point of why it's so good is that Suzanne Collins had so much input into the movie. Just looking through the credits she was one of the screen writers as well as being an executive producer. I really want to read the books now. Hoepfully someone gets it for my birthday. I like presents :)

Anyway, today I woke up for work and my throat was so sore! It really annoys me because I haven't done anything bad to it. I mean, I've been drinking heaps of water... must be cold weather?

Tomorrow I have 3 assignments due. One of them is my education unit where I bring along some artefacts and tags, another is a research assignment which I've already submitted online, and the last is my bit for a group assignment.... yeahhhhh..... need to get on that. Luckily I have a few big breaks tomorrow, so I can use them, but still if I get organised right now I can get some of it done. So... here's me getting orgnised.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. And may the odds be ever in your favour.

BEDIM Day 24

Almost a week to go until I get to finish writing BEDIM. As much as I love blogging, doing it everyday is really tiring... that's what she said.

Today was a good and bad day. In the morning I went out to DFO with my mum to try and find a dress and a nice warm jumper. Now, not being able to find a dress I like can be excused, but I have a bone to pick with the fashion industry. WHERE HAVE ALL THE NICE WOOLY JUMPERS GONE????? All the shops have now days are some cardigans which are too itchy, and some really thin jumpers which are pointless for winter. WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE WOOLY JUMPERS!???? That was a low point - when I realised that if I wanted one of thsoe types of jumpers that are so lovely and warm, I'd have to buy a guys jumper.

Anyway, after that I went out with my friend Sze Yee for lunch at Shira Nui (some Japanese place). It was nice to get together with her because I hadn't seen her for about 2 months. After that we went to The Glen and I bought some Truffles, Jumbo pack of Nerds and a Terry's Chocolate Orange altogether for $15. BARGAIN! Then we went around and went to Dymocks where I decided to buy TFioS because it was $15 there, and the checkout person WAS A NERDFIGHTER! I knew this because we got chatting about John Green's other books, and I asked if she was and she said yes! WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP!!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT! But... I FORGOT TO SAY DFTBA! I'M SO STUPID! HOW COULD I FORGET TO SAY THAT!!!!! GAH!!!

Anyways. After that Sze Yee and I decided to go to Knox, and we saw Lilla on the bus going there. Then when we got to Knox and couldn't find anything worthwhile to buy, we went to Sze Yee's house to collect her car and she drove me home. It's the first time any of my friends have driven me home... I quite liked it... I mean, it wasn't terrifying. I don't really know why people think that it's terrifying to be in the same car that your friend is driving. They must have been given their license for some reason, isn't it?

BEDIM Day 23

Blah blah blah.

I'M HERE WITH ALLY! WOOP! She is awesome. But as a result I am not going to write anything more.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

Thursday, 22 March 2012

BEDIM Day 22

Please, I beg of everyone, be nice to people serving you whatever you are buying. NO MATTER WHAT!

I had a rubbish customer today. "What is the fat content of the pies?" When we couldn't tell her exactly, she went off saying "I'm going to call consumer affairs." NO YOU'RE NOT! You're just going to take the pie you just bought from us and go out and eat it, without thinking of how much fat is in there. Seriously, if the woman was so concerned about the fat content, just don't buy a pie. We told her, also, that they all have less than 98% fat, and she still was so sour about it. You don't see ehr going to ask the Sushi people to display their fat content.

Anyway, I'm watching Woodley at the moment. SO FUNNY! And then tonight I'm going to watch the Old Who episodes that my friend Bec gave to me. She's a good one she is.

Then I'm going to listen to VLR until I fall asleep.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

I can't be bothered to write a post today. So, here are picture from the sunrise this morning. It's beautiful.

BEDIM Day 20 EXTRA!!!

Today was awesome. It was all lectures, but it was still pretty good.

In the morning, I hung around with Raushelle, Nick and Bec. Well, initially it was just Raushelle, Bec and I, and the lecture theatre was quite full when Nick walked in the other side of the massive room. He looked around for a bit and somehow didn't see us waving at him. So, being me, I yelled out his name and we proceeded to crack up laughing. Now all the people in the theatre know his name. *Puts fingertips together like Mr Burns* Excellent.

After the lecture we went to a computer pod. Nick is the craziest guy... HE LIKES GLEE! Which is strange, but totally awesome! And Bec gave me some old Who and the last episode of S3 Glee. And we then all talked about our favourite Glee songs, which was really cool.

Moral of this post: people who like Glee are awesome, and guys who like Glee are even more awesome than normal guys.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 20 - Dream: Meeting Kevin McHale

I had this dream at the start of last year and wrote it down in my old FanFiction book. I found it when I was looking through my old books and thought it needed sharing. Now, when I read it, it seems a bit Inception-y. I had the dream on the night of 29/1/11 – 30/1/11.

******

It was outside Melbourne Central’s Myer. I saw him across the road and I ran across to meet him. I told him that Artie was my favourite character and asked for an autograph and photograph. He obliged and I handed him my FanFiction notebook to sign, where he flipped to the back page and signed. Then I woke up, but I woke up in the dream, not in real life.

After smiling and resting my hands behind my head (in real life) I remembered that I hadn’t gotten a photo with him and thought, “This is my dream, I can control it,” so I went back to sleep where (in the dream) I was taking a photo with him. I then hugged him, said thank you to which he replied, “No problem.” I reversed my actions from before and ran back across the road. Then I woke up in real life.

BEDIM Day 19

Yesterday I watched Dr Horrible on YouTube. IT’S SO GOOD! Captain Hammer’s a dick, but Penny and Dr Horrible are really cool. And the music is awesome too.

I realised yesterday, after I had written the post, that I hadn’t actually done one assignment. I thought I had, but I wrote on the wrong thing :( I was meant to write on Hansel and Gretel, but I wrote about 1500 words on Red Riding Hood instead. I was so annoyed with myself because I spent so much time on it. But at least I know now what to do.

Anyway, today is Monday which means that I have my education tute this afternoon. That class is so awesome. In the first week we got to draw with crayons and oil pastels, and last week we got to have a class outside.

Another thing I’m excited for is the Nerdfighter gathering on Sunday. Actually, I think I might be working, but I’ll see if I can work on Saturday like I did this past weekend. I REALLY WANT TO GO TO THE NERDFIGHTER GATHERING!!!!!

Hmmm… what else is awesome at the moment? OH I KNOW! Alex Day sent around an email to the Nermie Army, giving us instructions about Lady Godiva. That video is amazingly hilarious and brilliant at the same time. It’s truly awesome.

BEDIM Day 18

Yo dudes! How's it goin? Whatcha up to? I'm good, but a little tired.

I had a party last night which was much better than other parties. I thought it was going to be one of those ones where you sat around and did nothing, but PEOPLE ACTUALLY DANCED AT THIS PARTY! It made it really good and so much fun.

I've finally decided what to do for my own party... just not sure if I should have it or not. I want to have it, but my previous experiences of being a host have not been very good. It would be on the Easter weekend which is really good because it means that everyone has Uni off.

I did one of my assignments yesterday. So that's two down, four to go. I've done my artefact collecting and written my own version of Red Riding Hood. Now I have 2 science assignments, 1 survey and an essay to write. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish one of my science assignments in my breaks.

I want to tell you my favourite joke, as seen in a Hank Green VlogBrothers video:
What do you call a monkey that walks into a minefield? A BA-BOOM!!!

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 17

So today I had work and it was way busier than normal... well, I normally work on weekdays, so working on the weekend is just really full on. And just as I was about to finish my shift, who comes up to the counter, but my mum and dad. And, of course, they are the worst customers I've had all day. They asked for one combo and another pie, then ask for a drink on top of that and I'm just thinking, "Why didn't you just ask for another combo?????" Bah humbug.
So, afterwards, I came home and went onto nerdighters.ning.com for the first time in a while, and asked for help in reference to my party and one girl made the dance party idea sound really cool, so I think I might do that anyway. I think I might theme it though... Sci-Fi. It has to be! ... or I might have it in a function room so my mum doesn't have to cook. I dunno.

Gah! I have to get on with my Uni work now.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

Friday, 16 March 2012

BEDIM Day 16

It's going to be my birthday in just over 3 weeks, and as it's my 18th, I want to have a big party. But here's the deal, I don't like big parties.

Well, I do, but in the past year, all the big parties I've been to have consisted of loud music by artists I hate and standing around and talking. Normally my friend, Andrea, and I would go into a quieter room to talk. It seems that we are the only ones who hate that type of party.

I don't know why those parties are so attractive to people because they are so BORING! There is literally nothing to do.

But the thing is that most of my parties over the last few years, while it may seem a good idea at the time of thinking, no one is going to be as enthusiastic like me about my idea. So this year, I was thinking of having half the party sort of Amazing Race -ish ending with that loud music everyone seems to like. At least that will be fun for me, as well as letting people be in teams with people they like. I don't know. Let me know what you think. Alternatively I'll just go out with Jess and my cousins because that's what I did last year and that was most fun. I also may be working on my birthday, even though it's Easter Sunday ... in that case I'll be spending it with Hannah. I like Hannah. She's cool.

So if anyone reads this and has had a really good party experience, leave a comment below. Also, if you have had a bad party experience leave a comment below too.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 15

Short post today, I have to get on with my Uni work.

I GOT TO SLEEP IN TODAY! It felt so good to be able to sleep in.

NEW OODCAST OUT TODAY!!! It’s a Regeneration Game! WOOP! It’s like Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation becomes totally focused on Doctor Who.

ALEX DAY’S LADY GODIVA VIDEO IS OUT! IT’S HILARIOUS!

Quote of the day: “Of course he isn’t gay! He went out with my sister!”

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 14

I’m sitting here, on a seat in Knox Ozone, writing this blog post on a notepad. No, that’s not my term for a tablet or anything, it’s literally a notepad and I’ll be transcribing this into a post later. So technically, the time posted may say 4:30 or whenever, but it was written 10:10 in the morning.

I hate Wednesdays. For Uni, I only have the one lecture in the morning from 8-9. It’s so pointless to go in for just one hour, especially since I can just watch the lecture online. But at least it gets me up – there’s nothing better than a walk through the cold morning air. It’s just a little weird to be up before the street lights are turned off, and I’m not a fan of getting up at 6:00. Actually, let’s make an amendment. I don’t like Wednesday mornings.

So after the lecture this morning, I came straight here to Knox, 1 ¼ hrs early for my work shift. I got some free Milo cereal from a lady and got some photos printed. I CAN NOW FINISH MY WALL OF STUFF!

*6 hours later*

Just come back from work and I still have to go to piano in about 15 minutes. I’m just so tired and want to go to bed. Seriously, by the time I finished work I already had my eight hour day and would be relaxing and watching TV.

You know what I realised? I realised that I initially made myself do this BEDIM thing to make myself get on with reviewing Doctor Who episodes... I haven’t really done that... I’ve just been telling you about my day...

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 13

Day 13… unlucky for some, but for others (the others who aren’t ridiculously superstitious) a normal day. So far, today has been a normal day.

I had my 8 a.m. lecture today for my education unit. Twas good. We were asked what it meant to be human. For me, being human is just being anatomically correct – you have a body, organs, a skeleton – and is completely different from being a person. In stories, for example, animals can be considered people because they have a personality. But a human is just a physical being; there is no meaning to the word unless you consider a human to be a person.

After the lecture I went with some new friends (yay!) to a computer pod and did some of the reading about Red Riding Hood. It was explained to me that the Red Hood is symbolic of her TOM and the wolf is symbolic of a man trying to lure into his … clutches(?). I cannot read the same story again. Take the line “Little Red Riding Hood took off her clothes and climbed into the bed.”(Charles Perrault) … now that I know the meaning, it sounds slightly wrong…. And then take a sentence from the Grimm version: “‘What’s that you’ve got under your apron?’ ‘Cake and wine…’” It’s not right is it?

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

BEDIM Day 12

Last night I watched a program about linguistics and sound. It was really interesting, and the fact that Stephen Fry was hosting it was a bonus. He was seeing how quickly children adapt to the world around them to learn their first language. He interviewed this guys who taught his son Klingon as his first language but eventually the kid started to speak English, even if his dad was speaking Klingon. I was just thinking about the poor kid growing up. For example, when he’s ten and some of his friends can speak Italian, Greek or a Chinese dialect because they had family members who spoke those languages, just imagine the kid’s shame in saying that his Dad taught him Klingon as his first language? He’s going to be a laughing stock.

In other news, I just found out that Mark Williams, known best for bring Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter, is going to play Rory’s dad, Brian Williams in the next series of Who. I mean, I knew he was going to be in Who, I just didn’t know his role until now! See this post for more.

BEDIM Day 11

Had another shift today at work with a girl called Hannah. She's nice. I like her. It was good... until I burnt my arm on the top of the display thingy. I now have two lines on my skin... a bit like mini tyre tracks... Although it didn't really hurt as much as normal burns usually do. It stung for about 5 minutes and then the pain went away.

I've almost finished reading The Fault In Our Stars for the second time and it's still making me cry. DAMN YOU JOHN GREEN! I guess I better finish it soon... it's due back at the library tomorrow... hmmm. I would really like An Imperial Affliction to be real, but I know it isn't so, again, DAMN YOU JOHN GREEN!

*Sigh* I guess I better get on with my uni work now...

BEDIM Day 10 EXTRA!!!!

So, ten days gone, here's a treat for ya'll :)

The other day at work, we found a tip jar -  well, it was more of a chip bucket with coins, but stay with me for this - and one of the people I work with decided to fancy it up a little. He used candycanes and sparkly pipecleaners to try and make it fancier. I don't think it's fancier, but it certainly is flashy :)

What do you think?

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S.The only tips we got that day were from the guy who made it because he wanted to claim that we would get heaps of tips... It doesn't count if it's the employees tipping the business... does it?

BEDIM Day 10 - Music Matters

My taste in music, well, isn’t really what you’d expect to hear. I mean, very few people have heard of the bands I like, so no-one would expect to know them... unless I was at a Nerdfighter gathering or something. But my taste in music is still good, and the artists I like are even better than the rubbish Top 40 songs that are our now. YES I’M TALKING ABOUT GYM CLASS HEROES’ STEREO HEARTS! (Also, the rapping in Back Home is also rubbish (it has no set beat) but at least Neon Hitch makes it a little better.) But my sister, who is undeniably a sheep as she follows the crowd in liking rubbish music, seems to think that there is only one type of good music: her music. It seems that other people cannot have different tastes in music, unless they want to be seen as barbaric. Her argument usually ends with, “OK, then why isn’t any of your music in the Top 40?” and now I can say, “Actually, Alex Day’s Forever Yours got to Number 4 on the Christmas Charts in England, which is a huge market. And better still, he was unsigned.” And she would say, “Yeah, well, that’s England, it doesn’t count. Anyway, what about the rest of your songs? They didn’t get into the charts?” (Because apparently the only thing that means good music, are people buying other people’s rubbish songs so that they can stay at number one.) And I say, “It’s because their unsigned. They didn’t enter a talent show or anything, and that’s what they haven’t been spotted. The amount of hours record labels would have to use to sift through videos of babies laughing and cats purring, would send anybody mad, as well as they just can’t be bothered.” And at that, she walks away, mimicking me because she can’t come back with anything good. BOOYAH! Point to Lian :)

Anyway ... in case you were wondering:

Favourite Male Artists:

Favourite Female Artists:
- Pink

Favourite Bands:

And yes, I am aware that some of them are Top 40 artists, but if they haven’t been in the charts for a month, my sister doesn’t count them as good artists.

Artists I dislike:
- Lady Gaga
- Gym Class Heroes
- Reece Mastin
- Britney Spears
- 360
- One Direction
- Skirllex
- Chris Brown
- Cee Lo Green
- Taio Cruz
- Usher
- Flo Rida (Basically, most rap artists with the exception of Eminem)
 - Bruno Mars
- Gotye
- Lana Del Rey
... The list goes on and on and on and on and .....

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!
