An Explanation

I don’t know if anyone actually read this blog, but I know that there are quite a few people who use this blog to get pictures for each episode of Doctor Who... and lately I haven’t really properly updated my review section recently. BUT I have a reason. Well, sort of. The reason is that it’s really time consuming... at least parts of the reviews are. I’ve actually written most of the reviews, but since they are also meant to feature pictures and quotes, I just need the motivation to get those two things.

I have a solution though. This March I’m going to do BEDIM, or Blog Every Day In March. I’m going to try and write a blog post everyday. If I can’t, I’ll make it 31 posts in 31 days, and try and make the quota.

I think that’s about it...

Poopy Politicians

Basically, as much as I don't want to be part of this debate... and my views won't even be counted anyway... I want to get this out and put my views down.

I wish that we could live in a country that had a good leader. Like The Project were saying this evening, Australia has one of the biggest economies in this world, yet we are now having one of the biggest (and stupidest) arguments in the world.

I think that we would have a much better chance of having a good country if we had a system like in America where the leader of the country had nothing to do with legislation that is passed in parliament, or may be in a separate party to the one that has majority in the lower house.

My view? I like Kevin Rudd better than Julia Gillard. And I like Malcom Turnbull better than Tony Abbott. The problem is that Malcom Turnbull is not the opposition leader anymore, Tony Abbott is. And with all the drama in the Labor party at the moment, I doubt that they would win the next election, leaving Tony Abbott as the leader of the country in which I live. And I don't want that to happen. The only think that is certain, is that if Kevin Rudd wins Monday's ballot, (as much as the Australia public would love that) the Labor Party might not, and the Independents might not, leaving another hung parliament and therefore, the only solution would be for parliament to be dissolved and a general election to be called.

In other news, my last post was my 50th! I didn't even realise that!

Reflections of Light

So I was sitting on my bed the other day and I noticed light being reflected onto the wall in front of me. And it looked really cool, so I took a few pictures :)

I’m not the richest person, but I do have $2.20 ... just enough to pay for my local library to buy The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP!!!!

Like I said to my friend: I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!! I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!!

In other news: I recently finished reading Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris.

It’s the fourth book in the Sookie Stackhouse novels, better known as the True Blood novels. I liked it. I haven’t really gotten into Twilight (I have to read it for my Uni course for studying behaviour changes in children, ugh), but I really like the True Blood series and this book was no exception.

The writing is amazing and, goes along well with the TV series which is loosely based on the novels. I expected to hate the series after reading the book, but it the show makes a really good interpretation of the books and isn’t cringe worthy.

Oh, and did I mention... I HAVE THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!!

I think I’m going to read The Fault In Our Stars now... :)

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

Dream – Hank Green and the DWSS

I had this dream on the night between the 4th and 5th of February 2012. On the 4th, I had gone to the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular (DWSS) (which was amazing), and this dream takes place there.

******

I was in the foyer of the Plenary Hall in the Exhibition Centre, waiting for the doors to open, and I saw this tall guy with blonde hair walk in, looking kind of lonely. I recognised him after a second ... IT WAS HANK GREEN!!!

Naturally, I had some fangirl moments, and really wanted a picture, but I was so nervous. It didn’t help that he was now walking confidently towards a group of people who were obviously his friends, so I thought I’d better back off and not ask for a picture. But, being me, I followed him around (from a distance) until I saw him alone.

I ran up to him and produced out of my bad, my notepad and a pen. He signed on the last blank page a pair of Hanklerfishes and his name. We talked for a little bit, while he was signing, and he was saying how he was trying to keep a low profile. I knew he was joking, and joked with him, sarcastically stating that the best place to keep a low profile was at a Doctor Who gathering, especially this one where (I bet) there were heaps of people who knew who he was (because of the amount of people wearing Tee-Fury shirts [Tee-Fury = littleradge = Chameleon Circuit = Nerdfighteria = Hank Green]). Then we got a passer by to take a picture of us together.

******

The dream ended there, but IT WAS SO AWESOME! And quite realistic too, if you don’t take into account that Hank Green was in Australia and had no fans surrounding him.

The DWSS was really good. They had Daleks and Silence and Cybermen and Vampire girls and Silurians and the Astronaut! (I know, bad grammar. I’m excited, give me a break.) I filmed most of it, but the angle that I held the camera sometimes aimed at the roof, so the first bit of the performance was mainly filmed with the roof on the screen. But, from the Matt Smith appearance, I filmed it alright (except for the Doctor Who theme because THE DAMN BATTERY RAN OUT!). I’ll be posting more onto YouTube at a later date, but for now, here is the Matt Smith video.

RandomWibbler here, with an update!

Hey guys!

I know, I know. It's been a while. But I just wonder how many people actually read this. I only have one subscriber who is one of my best friends, and even then, I don't think she reads everything I write.

So, I'm still not over how good Forever Yours is. I'm just loving Alex Day's new sound. It's so techno and catchy and dancy. It also reminds me of one of my favourite female artists, Kate Miller-Heidke. Her songs are always so kooky, but also has really high quality sound and lyrics. During my exam study last year, I would take a break to listen to podcasts occasionally, and amongst those was Vaguely Live Radio. Their latest episode, VLR 3x10, is, again, really funny and definitely worth listening to.

Another podcast that I am still in love with is The Ood Cast, who have recently started posting their series again after a really long break. Their upcoming episode will be their 50th, and therefore a "Best Of", so if you haven't heard them before, have a listen to that episode to get a feel of what they do. Then go through their back catalogue.

I recently came back from Malaysia, and, as you do with any Asian country, you come back with DVDs. I got myself series 2 of Community and series 4 of True Blood. I wouldn't really be into True Blood because of the vampire craze, but they are proper vampires. And Eric is HOT! Especially in series 4 where I was totally fangirling in every episode because of his personality. And then in Community, Troy and Abed are AWESOME! Although, Pierce REALLY annoys me and I really want him to go. BUT DAMN ANNIE VOTED FOR HIM TO STAY! GRRRRRR!!!!

I'm still into Doctor Who, (and I promise there are reviews coming soon), but I'm drifting back to Tennant being my Doctor. I had a long conversation with my friend over email, over Moffat's writing. I still like Smith, but he isn't given much of an opportunity to show what type of an actor he can be because of the complicated story lines. That was the gist of it. I like Tennant more than Smith, but I think I like Moffat better than RTD, just because of the way plots are resolved, even though they may get really complicated at times.

Until Next Time, Adios Amigos!

P.S. If you know where the heading is from, you win at life!
